The material is added into the V-shaped cylinder through the feeding port, usually with a filling amount of 40% -60% of the volume, to ensure sufficient flow space for the material during the rotation process.
The V-shaped cylinder rotates around a horizontal axis, and the material is continuously lifted, rolled, separated, and recombined with the movement of the cylinder, resulting in convective mixing. This mixing method does not apply strong shear forces to the material and is suitable for powders and particles that are fragile or have strict particle size distribution requirements.
The material flows freely between the two arms of the V-shaped cylinder. Each time it rotates, the material is divided into two parts and recombined to evenly spread and improve the mixing uniformity.
After reaching the preset mixing time, stop rotating and the material will basically reach a uniform mixing state. The mixing uniformity of a typical V-type mixer can reach over 99%.
Unloading through the bottom butterfly valve or quick discharge port to avoid material residue, ensure clean discharge, and reduce cross contamination.
